Readers report

              The Rock Stars Daughter
                     By: Caitlyn Duffy
I started reading this book awhile ago and just started to read it again. This book is all about a 17 year old girl who loves with her mom and barely ever sees her dad. Her parents got divorced when she was just a young girl. Her mom is a women who loves to throw parties and their huge house and her dad is well a popular rock star that everybody loves. One night she was up in her bedroom while her mom was throwing a party downstairs. The next thing she knew was that there were lots of cops and ambulances around her bourse. She ran downstairs just to find out that her mom had died. She was taken into a shelter home while they tried to find her father. He was on tour around the world and he stopped that to come straight home to his daughter. It was weird for her because she barely even knew who he was. They got to know one another and then he got custody of her and she went on tour with him her dads wife and the wife's daughter. She was nothing like them but she didn't care. She didn't let their differences get In the way and says "maybe having a younger sister wasn't such a bad thing." After that she kept moving forward and kept falling in love with her dads famous attention. So far I love this book and it just keeps getting better and better!

Proposal

As we all know children safety has gone downhill. I have thought about what I wanted to write my service project on and I have decided to write about children safety. I care so much about kids that hearing that many aren’t even safe kills me.  I most got excited to share my thoughts about this topic once the whole Hailey Owens thing happened this past week. I know that I am very upset about the subject and I’m not even a mother yet. Knowing that kids aren’t safe in their own neighborhood and that kids can’t even go outside and play on a nice day in this community anymore scares me to death.  After this has happened I have decided to talk about children safety and talk with young kids on what they need to do when I situation like this happens.  I know that my first step in completing and talking to young kids starts with me and my kids at Day Care. I know that I love all these kids and they mean so much to me that I will teach them first because I’m with them the most and it is very important to me that they know what safety tips to use during a situation such as one that has occurred earlier this week.  Over all I hope to teach children about safety tips needed in this community now days.

60 minutes

I just watched the 60 minutes video that was posted and I will say I was very shocked that a 15 year could figure something out like that. I am so amazed that somebody of such young age can figure something out like that. He has to be very talented and he is very talented to figure it out at 15 years out when grown people can’t even figure out a solution themselves. I think that it helped that his parents were so supported of him and his brother and basically allowing them to do any science project in their home as long as they don’t take down the house.  You never know who will found out such wanted facts. That’s why we should never under estimate somebody because of their age. He was 15 but he was one smart guy that loved science more than anything. I think that it’s great that people are allowing him to go to big events and speak about his experiment and he has even gotten to go to the White House four times. I think with sharing his story it will help in expiring all young kids to never give up on something you are interested in because you never know what you will get out of your talented area.
